OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY
FOURTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT
 The
Office of the District Attorney, 4th Judicial District,
is the public prosecutor for the citizens of El Paso
and Teller
Counties. Our main function is to enforce the criminal
laws of this state. Law enforcement agencies investigate
the crime and the prosecutor follows through with the
resulting charges.
A prosecutor’s obligation is to seek justice on
behalf of the people. Restitution for the victim, potential
for the defendant to rehabilitate, and the safety of the
community are some of the factors that are considered
in making decisions on individual cases.
There are many other responsibilities assigned to the
District Attorney under Colorado law. Our mission is
to fulfill these responsibilities, to be the voice of
the victim in criminal cases, and to seek justice in
all matters coming to this office.
It is an honor to represent the citizens of this community.
